What to Expect at ERCCStyle of WorshipOur worship service begins at 11:00 on Sunday morning, and ends about 12:30 p.m. We experience a contemporary service with a small worship band, and we sing both hymns and the latest worship songs. Listen to one of our services to find out what it’s like. We usually stand when we sing, but there are no hard and fast rules, so if you don’t like to, or are not able to stand, that’s ok. It’s the same with raising your hands -- raise them if that helps you worship God, or don’t if it doesn’t do anything for you. We have people of all ages and preferences, so we aim to be considerate. You’ll feel the joy of worship here. You’ll also see us dressed in anything from jeans and t-shirt to suits, so just come dressed modestly in a way that you’ll be comfortable. We have air conditioning, so even in summertime some people bring a light sweater. Children in ChurchIf you have children, we have several options. There is a “cry room” at the back of the sanctuary where you can go with small children and you can still see and listen to the service. We also have a nursery with responsible attendants, where you can leave your children ages 0-5. We offer a “Bible Club” for children ages 6-12, with crafts and fun lessons. Children are invited to leave for Bible Club during the worship service, before the sermon begins. AmenitiesWe have a sound system for those who are hard of hearing. You can ask an usher for a receiving unit when you come in. There is a handicap access door on the east side of the church. The side aisle accommodates walkers and narrower wheelchairs. As a guest, you don’t need to give anything. Meeting People and Feeling at HomeUnless you’re very outgoing, meeting new people can be a little intimidating. At ERCC, we make an effort to greet new people and get to know them a bit. Here are some opportunities -- other than Sunday service -- to help all of us get to know each other better: Coffee Hour: Most Sundays, there are coffee and snacks available after the service. We share this time with the Spanish-speaking Iglesia Del Pacto church, and it’s a great time of socializing. Sunday School: Whether for kids, teens, or adults, the classes beginning at 9:30 a.m. before worship service offer a casual environment to learn, ask questions, and socialize. Meetings During the Week: The College-Age group meets on Mondays throughout the year. If you've been coming to ERCC for a while now, you may also wish to volunteer on a committee, or for the worship team. Check out the calendar to see what's going on. Special Events: There are all kinds of events throughout the year at Eagle Rock Covenant Church, such as music concerts, special group fundraisers, mission trips, church in the park, Christmas dinner, and more. Go to the Events page to see if there’s anything coming up soon. |
