Update on Martha. We are very encouraged with the progress Martha is making. She is getting great therapy and her attitude is amazing. If this was a marathon race, we are in the first few miles of the race.
We got out of ICU in the first mile. The second couple of miles were in the stroke unit of the hospital. We had a rough go in the third phase. The facility was far inferior for her to continue progress.
The Lord was gracious to us and provided the fourth step. Her current rehabilitation is amazing. Our next journey is the long road to recovery. That is home! I am learning to be a care giver to my wife!
Please pray for me. My heart is in it and I just want to be all that Jesus would be if he were living my life as if he were me. I am so grateful for the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am also grateful to my church. They are stepping up and redoing the shower so that Martha can use it safely. This is not a cheap endeavor and if any of you reading this want to help out our church to defray the cost,
please contact our church office or go online and find a way to give. We are a growing church numerically, but financially were are stretching in faith.
Thank you! Now turning to this week’s scripture, I just want to say that a committed follower of Jesus is called to invest all in the work of spiritual transformation (salvation).
The good news is that God provides the power to accomplish his purpose in making us “holy and blameless in his sight” (Ephesians 1:4).
It is an “inside/out” job of God working to shape us into the image of his Son. The “discipline” in discipleship is that commitment to putting into practice what Jesus taught us while he was here on earth.
Just like training for a marathon, the road of discipleship is one day of training at a time and one mile at a time. Remember, I am here as your servant in Christ to help you train and run the race!
Need help? You are not alone. God bless.
